DMFT Index (Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth)
Calculate the DMFT index for permanent dentition from counts of decayed, missing, and filled teeth.
What this calculator does
This tool calculates the DMFT index for permanent (adult) teeth. You enter the number of decayed (D), missing (M), and filled (F) teeth, and it gives the total DMFT score. It is a standard measure used in dental epidemiology and screening.
What your result means
The result is the sum D + M + F (up to 28 or 32 teeth depending on whether wisdom teeth are included). It is a descriptive index only; it does not indicate what treatment you need. Your dentist will use it along with a full examination to guide care.
This is not medical advice. A healthcare provider should interpret results in your context.
